Audi is preparing for a major product offensive in India, with the German luxury carmaker confirming that three important new models are headed for the Indian market. The new-generation Audi Q3, A5, and flagship Q9 are part of the company’s upcoming launch strategy, with the models expected to arrive in India by 2027. Audi is also planning additional launches as it looks to strengthen its position in the country’s premium car market.
The announcement comes at an important time for Audi India, which is looking to regain momentum against rivals such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The company currently has around 8 per cent share of the Indian luxury car market and has set an ambitious target of doubling its market share over the next three years. Expanding its product portfolio will be a key part of this strategy.
New Audi Q3 to strengthen the entry-level SUV range
The third-generation Audi Q3 will be one of the most important launches among the three. The new SUV has already made its global debut and features a significantly updated design, a more modern cabin, and new technology.

For India, the Q3 is expected to be offered with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 204hp, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Quattro all-wheel drive is also expected to be offered as standard. The new Q3 will compete with premium SUVs such as the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
Audi A5 to replace the A4
The Audi A5 will also be an important addition to the company’s India line-up. Globally, the A5 has taken over the role previously occupied by the A4, combining the brand’s executive sedan positioning with a more modern design approach.
The India-spec A5 is expected to bring Audi’s latest cabin technology and premium features while continuing to target buyers looking for a luxury executive car. Its arrival will give Audi a newer offering in a segment where the company has faced strong competition from Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
Q9 to become Audi’s flagship SUV in India
The biggest highlight of the upcoming launches will be the Audi Q9. The full-size SUV sits above the Q7 and represents Audi’s new flagship SUV. The model offers three-row seating, a spacious luxury-focused cabin, and a long list of technology and comfort features. Audi describes the Q9 as its first full-size SUV.

The Q9 is expected to target buyers looking for a premium three-row SUV and will compete with high-end models from Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Its India launch could further expand Audi’s presence in the luxury SUV space.
What this means for Audi India
The Q3, A5, and Q9 will give Audi a broader product portfolio across different luxury segments. Alongside these models, the company is planning more launches over the next 18 months, including electric vehicles.
With a renewed focus on new products, dealerships, and customer experience, Audi is clearly aiming for a stronger comeback in India. The upcoming Q3, A5, and Q9 could therefore play an important role in the brand’s next phase of growth.
