October 2026 is shaping up to be an important month for the Indian SUV market, with Honda and Hyundai preparing new products for buyers. The Honda Elevate facelift is expected to arrive in early October, while Hyundai is reportedly preparing to introduce the Bayon-based SUV around the same period. Both models will target buyers looking for modern features, fresh styling and strong everyday practicality.
Honda Elevate Facelift Expected on October 6
Honda is preparing the first major update for the Elevate since its India introduction in 2023. According to recent reports, the facelift is expected to make its debut on October 6, 2026. The updated SUV is likely to follow an evolutionary design approach rather than receiving a completely new exterior.
Expected changes include a revised grille, updated LED lighting elements, redesigned alloy wheels and refreshed bumpers. The cabin could also receive new upholstery and additional equipment. Features such as ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof have been discussed as possible additions, although Honda has not officially confirmed the complete equipment list.
Mechanically, the Elevate facelift is expected to continue with the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The unit currently produces 121hp and 145Nm and is offered with a six-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. There is also speculation about a hybrid option, but this has not been officially confirmed for the facelift.
Hyundai Bayon-Based SUV Could Join the Line-Up
Hyundai is also expected to expand its SUV portfolio with a new model based on the Bayon. Reports suggest that the India-spec version could be positioned between the Venue and Creta, giving Hyundai another product in one of the country’s most competitive SUV segments.
Unlike the global Bayon, which has a crossover-oriented design, the India-spec model is expected to feature a more upright and SUV-focused appearance. This approach could help Hyundai create clearer separation from the Venue while offering buyers an alternative to models such as the Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and other compact and midsize SUVs.
Recent industry listings point towards an October 2026 arrival for the Bayon, although the exact debut and launch timeline should be treated as tentative until Hyundai makes an official announcement.
Two Important SUV Arrivals
The Honda Elevate facelift and Hyundai Bayon-based SUV could give Indian buyers two interesting new choices ahead of the festive season. Honda’s focus appears to be on refreshing an established model with more features, while Hyundai could use the Bayon-based SUV to strengthen its presence between the Venue and Creta.
With both manufacturers targeting a highly competitive market, pricing, equipment, and powertrain choices will play a major role in determining how successfully these SUVs attract buyers.
