Tata Safari Price Hike: SUV Prices Increased Again

Tata Motors has revised the prices of the Safari once again, making its popular three-row SUV more expensive in India. The latest update comes as part of Tata Motors’ September 2026 price revision, which affects selected models and variants across the company’s passenger vehicle range. This is the third price revision for Tata Motors in 2026.

Following the latest revision, the Tata Safari is now priced between Rs. 13.40 lakh and Rs. 26.91 lakh, ex-showroom. The important point for buyers is that the increase is not uniform across the entire Safari range. According to the latest price information, some variants have received an increase of up to Rs. 25,000, while the starting price of the SUV remains unchanged at Rs. 13.40 lakh.

The latest price increase follows another significant revision in July, when selected Safari variants became costlier by up to Rs. 61,000. Tata Motors did not introduce mechanical or feature changes with that price revision.

Tata Motors has attributed its broader September price revision to rising input costs and sustained inflationary pressures. The company announced that prices across its ICE and electric vehicle portfolio would increase by up to Rs. 25,000, with the actual adjustment depending on the model and variant.

The Safari continues with its existing engine options and equipment package. The SUV is offered with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 168bhp and 280Nm, along with a 2.0-litre diesel engine developing 168bhp and 350Nm. Buyers can choose between manual and automatic transmission options, depending on the variant.

In terms of features, the Safari continues to offer equipment such as a 12.3-inch infotainment display, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, connected technology and premium audio. Higher variants also get features such as a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS. Safety equipment includes seven airbags, ABS, ESC, hill-hold assist and all-wheel disc brakes.

For buyers planning to purchase the Safari during the upcoming festive season, the latest price revision means checking the exact variant-wise price is important. Since the hike varies across the range, the final impact on the purchase price depends on the specific configuration selected.

The Safari remains Tata Motors’ flagship three-row internal-combustion SUV, while the company is also preparing to expand its electric SUV portfolio with a Safari EV expected to follow.
