MG Motor India is preparing to introduce a new three-row electric SUV in the Indian market, which is currently being referred to as the MG Hector Tomahawk. The upcoming model has recently entered the spotlight after the company released a new teaser and opened pre-bookings. According to the latest information, the SUV will make its India debut on August 26, 2026.
MG Hector Tomahawk Booking Amount
The booking amount for the upcoming MG Hector Tomahawk has been set at Rs 21,000. Interested buyers can reserve the SUV online or through authorised MG dealerships. This amount is expected to be treated as a token booking amount, while the final price and variant-wise details will be announced closer to or at the launch.
The new SUV is expected to be positioned as a premium seven-seater electric model and will sit above the regular Hector in MG’s expanding SUV portfolio. The company is targeting buyers looking for a spacious family SUV with an electric powertrain and a technology-rich cabin.
Launch Date and Seating Layout
The MG Hector Tomahawk is scheduled to launch in India on August 26, 2026. The SUV will feature a three-row 2+3+2 seating configuration, making it suitable for larger families. The second row is expected to use a bench-type seat, while the third row will provide additional seating capacity.
MG has also teased the SUV alongside a Curtiss P-40 Tomahawk fighter aircraft, highlighting the model’s aggressive design theme. The final production name is still subject to official confirmation, although MG has reportedly trademarked the Hector Tomahawk name in India.
MG Hector Tomahawk Expected Specs
The electric SUV is expected to use MG’s new ADAPT architecture, a modular platform designed to support multiple electrified powertrains. Reports suggest the EV could use a battery pack of around 69.2kWh and a front-mounted electric motor producing approximately 201hp and 310Nm of torque.
The claimed driving range could be around 530km on a single charge, although the official ARAI-certified range and charging specifications are yet to be announced.
Features and Competition
The upcoming MG SUV is expected to get a premium cabin with a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, powered and ventilated front seats, and Level 2 ADAS. These features could make it one of the more technology-focused SUVs in its segment.
With its three-row layout and electric powertrain, the MG Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to compete with upcoming electric SUVs such as the Mahindra XEV 9S and Tata Safari EV. MG is likely to reveal the final price, complete specifications and variant details at the August 26 launch.
For now, the Rs 21,000 booking amount and August 26 launch date make the Hector Tomahawk one of the key new electric SUV launches to watch in India this month.
