Maruti e-Vitara Prices Increased by Up to Rs. 20,000

Maruti Suzuki has revised the prices of its first electric SUV, the e-Vitara, in India. The latest price update has made select variants of the electric SUV costlier by up to Rs. 20,000. The revised prices are applicable with immediate effect and come as part of a broader price revision across Maruti Suzuki’s range.

With the latest update, the Maruti e Vitara now starts at Rs. 16.19 lakh and goes up to Rs. 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom. However, the price increase has not been applied uniformly across all variants. While some versions have become more expensive, the top-spec Alpha variant continues to be available at its existing price.

Maruti e-Vitara Gets Variant-Wise Price Revision

The entry-level Delta variant with the 49kWh battery pack has received the biggest increase in the latest revision. Its price has gone up by Rs. 20,000, taking the ex-showroom price from Rs. 15.99 lakh to Rs. 16.19 lakh.

The Zeta variant equipped with the larger 61kWh battery pack has also become more expensive. It now costs Rs. 17.94 lakh, which represents a Rs. 15,000 increase over its previous price.

Interestingly, the range-topping Alpha variant with the 61kWh battery has not received any increase in this round. It continues to be priced at Rs. 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom.

This means buyers choosing the entry-level version will see the biggest percentage impact, although the overall increase remains relatively small compared with the SUV’s starting price.

Second Price Increase Since Launch

The latest revision is particularly notable because it is the second price increase for the e Vitara since its launch in India earlier this year.

The electric SUV received its previous price revision in June 2026, when select variants became costlier by up to Rs. 30,000. At that time, the base Delta variant remained unchanged, while the Zeta and Alpha trims received price increases.

With the August revision, the e Vitara has now seen two price adjustments within a relatively short period. Buyers who were considering the SUV at its original launch pricing will therefore have to spend more, depending on the variant selected.

Battery Options and Range

The Maruti e Vitara is offered with two battery pack options in India. The smaller battery has a capacity of around 49kWh, while the larger unit gets 61kWh. The bigger battery is aimed at buyers looking for longer driving range and greater flexibility for highway use.

The SUV is positioned in the competitive electric SUV segment and goes up against models such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra BE 6 and MG ZS EV.

The e Vitara also represents an important product for Maruti Suzuki as the company looks to strengthen its presence in India’s growing electric vehicle market.

Should You Buy the e Vitara Now?

The latest Rs. 20,000 increase for the Delta variant is unlikely to significantly alter the overall ownership calculation, but it does raise the entry price slightly. For customers already planning to buy the e Vitara, the revised pricing should be taken into account when comparing variants and competing electric SUVs.

The unchanged Alpha variant could also become an interesting option for buyers looking for a fully equipped version, although the final choice will depend on budget, battery requirements and intended usage.

For now, the Maruti e Vitara continues to occupy an important position in Maruti Suzuki’s EV strategy, and the latest price revision is unlikely to significantly alter its positioning in the segment.
