Mahindra BE 7 Coming Soon to Rival Hector Tomahawk EV

Mahindra is preparing to expand its born-electric SUV lineup with the upcoming BE 7, also referred to as the BE.07. The new electric SUV has been spotted testing in India several times and is expected to sit above the BE 6 in Mahindra’s electric portfolio. With the recently launched MG Hector Tomahawk EV entering the premium electric SUV space, the BE 7 is likely to become one of its key rivals.

Unlike the coupe-inspired BE 6 and XEV 9e, the BE 7 is expected to feature a more traditional SUV silhouette. Recent spy images suggest that the production-spec model will retain several elements of the BE.07 concept while adopting a practical body design aimed at family buyers. The SUV is expected to compete with models such as the MG Hector Tomahawk EV and Tata Harrier EV.

Mahindra BE 7 Design and Interior

The latest test vehicles have revealed some interesting details about the upcoming electric SUV. The BE 7 is expected to get a distinctive front-end design, flush-fitting door handles and a large panoramic glass roof. Spy shots have also revealed a triple-screen dashboard layout, giving the cabin a more premium and technology-focused appearance. ADAS features are also expected to be part of the equipment list.

Mahindra is likely to position the BE 7 as a spacious and feature-rich alternative to the BE 6. The production version could offer a combination of connected-car technology, advanced driver assistance systems, premium audio and multiple comfort features, although the final equipment list will be confirmed closer to launch.

Expected Battery and Range

Official battery specifications have not yet been announced. However, reports suggest that the BE 7 could be offered with battery packs around 59kWh and 79kWh. A claimed range of up to around 600km has also been reported for the larger battery version, although the final certified figure could be different.

The SUV is expected to use Mahindra’s INGLO platform, which also underpins its existing born-electric models. Depending on the variant, the BE 7 could offer different power outputs and potentially all-wheel-drive technology on higher versions.

Expected Price and Launch

The Mahindra BE 7 is expected to arrive in the Indian market in the near future, with current industry reports pointing towards a 2027 launch timeline. Its expected price is likely to fall around the Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh range, placing it in the premium electric SUV segment.

The timing could make the BE 7 an interesting competitor to the newly launched MG Hector Tomahawk EV. The MG electric SUV is available in both five- and seven-seat configurations, while the BE 7 is expected to focus on a five-seater layout. With its modern design, long-range potential and advanced cabin technology, Mahindra’s upcoming EV could become a strong alternative for buyers looking for a premium electric SUV.
