India is preparing to host the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12 and 13, 2026, and the preparations extend well beyond security and venue arrangements. A fleet of around 500 premium vehicles has been arranged to handle the transportation requirements of world leaders, ministers, diplomats and other senior delegates attending the summit.
The fleet, arranged by Punia Travels, includes a mix of luxury SUVs, premium MPVs and executive sedans. Among the key models deployed are the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450, Toyota Vellfire, Kia Carnival and BMW 5 Series. These vehicles will support the movement of international guests between airports, hotels, Bharat Mandapam and other official locations during the summit.
Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 for Premium SUV Transport
The Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 is one of the prominent SUVs included in the BRICS transport fleet. Its spacious cabin, premium interior, and comfortable rear seating make it suitable for transporting high-profile delegates.
The SUV also offers rear-seat comfort and technology-focused features, including tablet-based controls that allow passengers to manage various cabin functions. For an event involving long hours of official travel, such features can make a noticeable difference to passenger comfort.
Toyota Vellfire Focuses on Rear-Seat Comfort
The Toyota Vellfire is another important part of the fleet. Known for its spacious cabin and executive-style seating, the premium MPV is particularly suited to VIP transportation.
Its focus on rear-seat comfort makes it practical for senior delegates who may need to travel between multiple venues across Delhi. The Vellfire’s cabin also provides controls for adjusting various comfort-related functions during the journey.
Kia Carnival Adds More Practicality
The Kia Carnival has also been selected for the summit’s transportation requirements. Its large cabin and reclining rear seats make it suitable for carrying delegates who require additional passenger space and comfort.
Alongside the GLS and Vellfire, the Carnival gives organisers flexibility to match different vehicles with different delegation requirements.
500-Car Fleet Supports a Major International Event
The use of around 500 premium vehicles highlights the scale of the BRICS Summit. With leaders and representatives from 11 BRICS member countries expected to attend, along with partner and invited nations, coordinating transportation across the capital requires a large and carefully managed fleet.
The 2026 summit will be held under India’s theme of “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.” Discussions are expected to cover global governance, economic cooperation, digital public infrastructure, artificial intelligence, climate action and green finance.
For India’s automotive industry, the event also puts several premium models in the spotlight as they become part of the official mobility arrangements for one of the country’s biggest international diplomatic gatherings.
