Kia India has achieved a notable milestone with its Carens Clavis EV, as more than 1,100 units of the electric MPV have now been deployed across corporate and mobility fleets since its launch in July 2025. The development highlights the growing interest in electric vehicles for business and professional mobility applications in India.
Carens Clavis EV Gains Strong Fleet Demand
The Carens Clavis EV was launched in India in July 2025 as Kia’s first made-in-India mass-market electric vehicle. Its three-row layout, spacious cabin, and electric powertrain make it particularly suitable for fleet operators that need a practical vehicle for transporting multiple passengers.
Kia offers the Carens Clavis EV with two battery options. The smaller 42kWh battery provides a claimed range of up to 404km, while the larger 51.4kWh battery offers up to 490km of ARAI-certified range. The EV also supports 100kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 39 minutes under suitable conditions.
New 100-Unit Order From Refex Mobility
As part of the latest fleet expansion, Kia India has handed over 100 Carens Clavis EVs to Refex Mobility. The deployment further strengthens the vehicle’s presence in corporate and shared-mobility operations and takes the overall number of corporate fleet deployments beyond the 1,100-unit mark.
For fleet operators, the electric MPV offers several potential advantages, including lower running costs compared with conventional petrol or diesel vehicles and zero tailpipe emissions. Its seven-seat configuration also gives it an edge for employee transportation, airport transfers, and other passenger-focused mobility services.
Practical Features For Commercial Use
The Carens Clavis EV combines its practical MPV layout with several modern technologies. Depending on the variant, it gets features such as dual displays, connected-car functions, V2L capability, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced driver assistance systems. Kia has also equipped the EV with an IP67-rated battery system and regenerative braking technology.
The growing fleet adoption could also help Kia gather valuable real-world data on electric vehicles used intensively in commercial applications. Fleet vehicles generally cover significantly higher distances than private cars, making them an important segment for accelerating EV adoption.
Kia’s EV Strategy Gets A Boost
The 1,100-plus corporate fleet milestone comes at an important stage for Kia’s electric vehicle strategy in India. Strong demand from fleet and mobility companies indicates that the Carens Clavis EV is finding applications beyond the conventional family-car market.
With more businesses looking at electrification to control operating costs and meet sustainability targets, Kia’s three-row electric MPV could continue to play an important role in India’s evolving commercial EV market.
