Kia Carens Prices Hiked in India: New Price List

Kia India has revised the prices of the Carens MPV in India, with the latest increase applicable with immediate effect. The price revision comes shortly after Kia introduced factory-fitted CNG versions of the Carens and Carens Clavis, adding another fuel option to its growing MPV portfolio.

The latest price hike is limited to select variants. According to the updated price information, the entry-level Premium (O) manual variants of the Kia Carens have become more expensive by Rs. 10,000. Following the revision, the Carens is now priced between Rs. 11.12 lakh and Rs. 12.98 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Carens continues to be offered in a relatively simple line-up compared with some of Kia’s other models. The current range is focused on the Premium (O) trim, with petrol and diesel engine options. Both versions are paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The petrol version uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, while the diesel model gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged unit. The Carens remains a seven-seat MPV, making cabin space and three-row practicality its primary strengths for family buyers.

CNG Option Recently Added

The latest price revision comes soon after Kia expanded the Carens range with a factory-fitted CNG option. The Carens CNG is offered in the Premium (O) variant and uses the 1.5-litre petrol engine. The CNG version was introduced at a premium over the equivalent petrol model, giving buyers another option focused on running-cost efficiency.

Kia has also been updating the wider Carens family. The newer Carens Clavis recently received lower-spec automatic variants, making turbo-petrol DCT and diesel automatic powertrains available at lower price points than before. However, the standard Carens continues to remain positioned as the simpler and more affordable seven-seat MPV in Kia’s line-up.

What the Price Hike Means for Buyers

The Rs. 10,000 increase is relatively small compared with the overall price of the vehicle, but buyers planning to purchase the Carens should consider the revised ex-showroom price when calculating their on-road budget. Since registration, insurance and other charges vary between states and cities, the final amount will be higher than the listed ex-showroom prices.

With its seven-seat layout, petrol, diesel and CNG choices, the Kia Carens continues to target buyers looking for a spacious family MPV without moving into the higher price bracket occupied by larger premium MPVs.
