New Toyota Glanza Facelift Launch on October 14: ADAS, New Engine

Toyota is preparing to introduce the facelifted Glanza in India on October 14, 2026. The premium hatchback is expected to receive a substantial update, with changes to its engine, safety technology, comfort features, and exterior styling. The new Glanza will continue to be positioned against rivals such as the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz.

The biggest change is expected under the bonnet. The current 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine is likely to be replaced by Maruti Suzuki’s new Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. In the recently updated Baleno, this engine develops around 83hp and 112Nm and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. An AMT option is also expected to be available on the new Glanza.

A CNG version could also continue to be part of the Glanza range, although Toyota is yet to officially confirm the powertrain lineup. The CNG version is expected to use the same new engine with a manual transmission.

More Safety and Premium Features

The upcoming Glanza is expected to make a major jump in safety technology. One of the key additions could be Level 2 ADAS, bringing features such as driver assistance and additional active safety functions to Toyota’s premium hatchback. A tyre pressure monitoring system is also expected.

Comfort features are likely to receive an upgrade as well. The facelift could get ventilated front seats, which would be a significant addition for a hatchback in this segment. A wireless smartphone charger with a ventilation function is also expected, following the feature list of the updated Baleno.

Toyota is expected to make relatively minor changes to the exterior. The Glanza could receive a redesigned grille and revised front bumper, while the overall shape and rear design may remain largely familiar. The cabin layout is also expected to remain similar to the existing model.

Interestingly, features such as a sunroof and a fully digital driver display are not expected to be offered, based on reports surrounding the Baleno facelift.

Expected Price and Rivals

Toyota is likely to price the facelifted Glanza at a slight premium over the outgoing model. The current Glanza is priced between Rs 6.73 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom, so the updated model could move higher depending on the variant and equipment.

With the October 14 launch approaching, Toyota is expected to reveal the complete variant lineup, specifications and pricing closer to the event. The combination of a new engine, ADAS and premium comfort features could make the facelifted Glanza a considerably stronger offering in India’s premium hatchback segment.
