Toyota has started customer deliveries of the new Hilux in India, marking the arrival of the significantly updated lifestyle pickup in dealerships. The latest Hilux was launched in India on July 28, 2026, with prices starting at Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while deliveries were scheduled to begin from the second week of August.
The new Toyota Hilux brings a major design and equipment update while continuing with the familiar ladder-frame architecture. Toyota has given the pickup a more muscular appearance inspired by its Cyber Sumo design philosophy. The front-end features a wider grille, redesigned LED lighting and a more rugged bumper, giving the Hilux a stronger road presence.
Inside the cabin, Toyota has focused on making the Hilux more premium and technology-focused. The top-spec version gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 7-inch digital instrument display. Toyota i-Connect connected-car technology, wireless charging and an eight-speaker audio system are also available.

Under the bonnet, the new Hilux continues with a 2.8-litre BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine. It produces 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. One of the major changes for India is that the manual gearbox has been discontinued. Toyota has also introduced a new 4×2 automatic variant, making the Hilux more accessible to buyers who do not require four-wheel-drive capability.
The new Hilux is available in three variants: GX 4×2 AT, GX 4×4 AT and VX 4×4 AT. Prices range from Rs 31.99 lakh to Rs 36.69 lakh, ex-showroom. The 4×4 versions continue to offer high- and low-range functionality along with differential-lock capability, making them suitable for demanding off-road conditions.
Safety remains another important focus area. The pickup gets seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, ABS with Brake Assist, ISOFIX mounts, tyre-pressure monitoring and parking sensors. Higher variants also benefit from a panoramic-view monitor and additional driver-assistance features.

With deliveries now underway, the new Toyota Hilux strengthens Toyota’s position in India’s premium lifestyle pickup segment. The combination of rugged capability, updated technology and the proven 2.8-litre diesel engine could make the latest Hilux an attractive option for buyers looking for a premium pickup with genuine off-road credentials.
