Maruti Suzuki is preparing to significantly expand its utility vehicle portfolio in India. The company is working on multiple new SUVs and MPVs aimed at strengthening its presence in segments where rivals such as Tata, Hyundai, Mahindra, and Toyota have been gaining ground. The upcoming range is expected to cover different price points and powertrain options, including petrol, hybrid, and electric models.
Maruti Y43 Micro SUV
One of the most anticipated upcoming models is the Maruti Y43, a new micro SUV expected to sit below the Fronx in the company’s portfolio. It is likely to target popular models such as the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter, giving Maruti a stronger presence in the entry-level SUV segment.
The Y43 is expected to focus on a compact footprint, a practical cabin, and affordable running costs. Reports have also suggested that Maruti could explore petrol and hybrid technology for the model, although final specifications have not yet been officially confirmed.
7-Seater Grand Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is also expected to introduce a three-row version of the Grand Vitara. The upcoming 7-seater SUV will be positioned above the existing five-seater model and is expected to target buyers looking for additional cabin space without moving into the premium full-size SUV segment.

The fourth upcoming utility vehicle is the YDB, which is expected to be positioned as a compact, affordable MPV. It could target buyers seeking a practical family vehicle with multiple seating options while keeping ownership costs under control.
The YDB is expected to strengthen Maruti’s presence in the entry-level MPV space, particularly as demand for affordable family vehicles continues.
