Audi Q9 India Launch 2027: New Flagship SUV Revealed

Audi has officially revealed the all-new Q9, marking the arrival of its largest and most luxurious SUV yet. Positioned above the Q7, the Q9 will become Audi’s new flagship SUV and is set to target buyers looking for a spacious three-row luxury vehicle. Audi India has confirmed that the Q9 will arrive in the Indian market in 2027.

Largest Audi SUV Yet

The Audi Q9 has been designed as a full-size luxury SUV with a strong road presence. It measures 5,310mm in length, 2,210mm in width and 1,810mm in height, while its 3,140mm wheelbase should provide generous cabin space. The SUV will be offered with three rows and seven seats, making it particularly relevant for customers seeking a premium family SUV.

Audi has focused heavily on comfort and technology inside the cabin. The Q9 gets a modern dashboard layout with multiple digital displays, while the interior is designed to provide a premium experience for passengers across all three rows. Earlier details revealed by Audi also point towards electrically operated doors and advanced convenience features.

V6 Diesel Engine and Quattro AWD

In its UK specification, the Audi Q9 is available with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine producing 300bhp and 630Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system. Mild-hybrid technology is also part of the powertrain package.

However, Audi has not yet confirmed the exact engine and specifications that will be offered on the India-spec Q9. The company could make changes to the powertrain line-up depending on market requirements and regulations.

Audi Q9 India Launch and Rivals

Audi has confirmed that the Q9 will launch in India in 2027, with the model expected to arrive during the second half of the year. It will sit at the top of Audi’s SUV range and compete directly with premium three-row SUVs such as the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS.

The Q9 could also appeal strongly to chauffeur-driven luxury SUV buyers in India, thanks to its large dimensions, three-row layout and focus on rear-seat comfort. Its positioning above the Q7 will give Audi a stronger presence in the full-size luxury SUV segment.

With its imposing design, spacious cabin, advanced technology, quattro all-wheel drive and powerful V6 engine options, the Audi Q9 is shaping up to be one of the brand’s most important luxury SUV launches for India in 2027. Pricing and India-specific features are expected to be announced closer to its launch.
