BMW India has opened pre-bookings for its special “100 Jahre Nürburgring” editions in India, celebrating the upcoming 100th anniversary of the legendary Nürburgring circuit in Germany. The limited-run collection brings together five BMW M performance cars, including the M5 Touring, which is being introduced in India for the first time.
The India-bound lineup includes the BMW M2 Coupé, M3 Competition xDrive, M4 Competition xDrive, M5 Sedan and M5 Touring. BMW Motorrad is also joining the celebrations with the M 1000 R motorcycle. BMW has not yet announced the exact number of cars allocated to India, but the editions are expected to be available in very limited numbers.
Special Nürburgring-inspired design
The 100 Jahre Nürburgring editions receive distinctive styling inspired by the famous race track. The cars are finished in Nürburgring Green, while Sapphire Black Metallic is also offered with contrasting green details. The special treatment extends to the interiors, which feature black upholstery with green and white stitching, carbon-fibre elements and M Carbon bucket seats.
Other edition-specific touches include a “100 Years” anniversary logo, “Nürburgring since 1927” branding and a silhouette of the circuit. The steering wheel also gets a motorsport-inspired 12 o’clock marker, adding to the special-edition character.
M5 Touring makes its India debut
The biggest highlight of the collection is the BMW M5 Touring. This is the first time BMW India is bringing the high-performance estate body style to the country. The M5 Touring uses a 4.4-litre V8-based plug-in hybrid powertrain producing 717bhp and 1,000Nm, with a claimed 0-100kmph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds.
The M5 Sedan uses the same powertrain and produces the same 717bhp and 1,000Nm, while the M3 and M4 continue with BMW’s high-performance inline-six engines. The M2, meanwhile, offers a more compact entry point into the special-edition range.
Nürburgring connection
The special editions celebrate BMW M’s long association with the Nürburgring, particularly the demanding 20.8km Nordschleife. BMW has used the circuit extensively for developing and testing its performance cars, making the anniversary theme particularly relevant to the M division.
Pre-bookings for the BMW 100 Jahre Nürburgring editions are now open through authorised BMW dealerships in India. Prices and exact India allocation details are yet to be announced.
