MG Motor India has once again revised the price list for its popular Hector and Hector Plus SUVs, and this time, buyers are looking at a noticeably steeper hike. As per the latest update for July 2026, the 2026 Hector now costs up to Rs. 50,800 more than before. The Hector Plus range has followed a similar trend, with the Sharp Pro 7-seater variant powered by the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with a manual gearbox taking the biggest hit of Rs. 50,800.
This isn’t the first time MG has adjusted pricing on these models this year. Back in April 2026, the carmaker had already pushed through an earlier round of hikes. At that time, all variants of the Hector Plus received a uniform increase of Rs. 20,000, taking the model’s price range to between Rs. 17.49 lakh and Rs. 19.69 lakh, while the Hector itself went up by as much as Rs. 30,000. Interestingly, even during that revision, the entry-level Style variant was left untouched, remaining the only price-stable option in the entire lineup, and the base Style Petrol MT was still held at Rs. 11.99 lakh.
So why does MG keep tweaking prices so often? It’s a pattern seen across the Indian auto industry; rising input costs, changes in raw material pricing, and periodic model-year updates all play a role. The Hector and Hector Plus have also been going through a broader transformation this year, with JSW MG Motor India rolling out design and feature updates as part of a facelift, marking the fourth styling revision since the car’s original 2019 launch.
For anyone tracking the Hector Plus specifically, current on-road figures give a clearer picture of where things stand. As of August 2026, the on-road price in Mumbai for the Hector Plus starts at around Rs. 21.30 lakh, factoring in ex-showroom cost, road tax, registration, and insurance.
If you’ve been eyeing a Hector or Hector Plus, this back-to-back pricing movement is worth noting. Waiting for the “right time” to buy isn’t always straightforward with SUVs that see frequent revisions like these. Sometimes, the smarter move is locking in a deal before the next hike lands, rather than gambling on a future price drop. On the flip side, if you can be patient, keeping an eye on dealership offers and end-of-quarter discounts might help offset some of the increase.
