JSW MG Motor India is all set to unveil its new three-row electric SUV, the MG Hector Tomahawk, in India tomorrow, August 26, 2026. The upcoming model will mark MG’s entry into a new premium seven-seat electric SUV space and will sit above the existing Hector in the company’s line-up. The SUV will be launched initially in an all-electric avatar, while a plug-in hybrid version is expected to follow later.
MG Hector Tomahawk: Seven-Seat Electric SUV
The biggest highlight of the upcoming Hector Tomahawk is its three-row, seven-seat configuration. Unlike many electric SUVs that focus on five-seat layouts, MG is targeting buyers looking for a larger family EV with additional seating capacity. The second row is expected to get a bench-type layout, while the third row will provide seating for two passengers.
The new SUV is based on MG’s ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) platform. This architecture has been designed to support multiple electrified powertrains, including battery-electric and plug-in hybrid systems. The Tomahawk will become the first production model in India to use this new platform.
Expected Battery, Motor and Range
While MG has not yet revealed the complete India-spec specifications, reports suggest that the electric version could use a 69.2kWh LFP battery pack. It is expected to feature a single front-mounted electric motor producing around 201hp and 310Nm of torque. The official India-spec range is still awaited.
Some reports have indicated a potential driving range of around 500km or more, but this figure should be treated as an expectation until MG officially confirms the battery capacity and certified range.
Premium Cabin and Technology
The Hector Tomahawk is expected to feature a modern cabin with a minimalist dashboard design. Spy images and teasers suggest a large floating touchscreen infotainment system, along with physical controls for functions such as climate settings. The dashboard is also expected to feature leatherette finishes and a premium dual-tone theme.
The SUV is also expected to get a long list of connected and driver-assistance features, although MG is yet to reveal the complete equipment list. More details should become available at the official unveiling.
Expected Price and Rivals
The MG Hector Tomahawk is expected to be positioned in the premium electric SUV segment, with estimates putting its price in the ₹20 lakh to ₹27 lakh range. However, the final price will only be confirmed by MG at the launch.
With its seven-seat layout and electric powertrain, the Tomahawk could become an important rival to upcoming three-row electric SUVs, including the Mahindra XEV 9S.
The official unveiling tomorrow should reveal the final name, specifications, range, features and pricing details of MG’s new electric SUV. If MG manages to combine strong range with practical three-row space and competitive pricing, the Hector Tomahawk could become one of the more interesting family EV launches of 2026.
