Porsche is preparing to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in India with the Cayenne Electric, which is scheduled to make its India debut on September 30, 2026. The all-electric luxury SUV will join the Taycan and Macan EV in Porsche India’s growing electric lineup. Prices for the Cayenne Electric are expected to start at around Rs. 1.76 crore (ex-showroom), while the more powerful Turbo Electric is listed at around Rs. 2.26 crore.
The Cayenne Electric represents a major shift for one of Porsche’s most important SUV nameplates. Instead of simply adapting an existing petrol-powered model, Porsche has developed a dedicated electric version with high-performance hardware, advanced charging technology and a range of features aimed at combining everyday usability with sports-car performance.
Porsche Cayenne Electric: Battery and Range
The Cayenne Electric is equipped with a 113kWh battery pack and an 800-volt electrical architecture. Porsche claims a driving range of up to 642km, making the SUV suitable for long-distance journeys as well as daily urban use.
Charging performance is another major highlight. The Cayenne Electric can accept up to 400kW of DC charging power under suitable conditions. Porsche claims the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in less than 16 minutes. An optional wireless charging system is also available, supporting up to 11kW.
Up to 1,156 PS in Turbo Electric
Performance is expected to be one of the biggest attractions of the Cayenne Electric range. The standard Cayenne Electric develops up to 442 PS with launch control, while the Cayenne Turbo Electric produces as much as 1,156 PS and 1,500 Nm of torque.
The Turbo Electric can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 2.5 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 260kmph. These figures put the electric SUV firmly into performance-car territory despite its large SUV dimensions.
Porsche has also equipped the Cayenne Electric with all-wheel drive and advanced electronic traction management. Adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management is offered as standard, helping balance ride comfort and handling.
Technology-Focused Cabin
The electric Cayenne gets a completely modernised cabin with a strong focus on digital interaction. Porsche has introduced a new display and control concept combining digital screens with physical controls. The cabin is designed to retain the driver-focused character associated with the brand while providing the technology expected from a modern luxury EV.
The SUV is also expected to offer advanced connectivity and driver assistance features, making it more suitable for long-distance luxury travel.
India Launch and Rivals
The Porsche Cayenne Electric will make its India debut on September 30. It will compete in the premium electric SUV space against models such as the BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron and Lotus Eletre, although its combination of performance, luxury and Porsche branding places it at the higher end of the segment.
With a claimed range of over 640km, ultra-fast charging and more than 1,000 PS in Turbo guise, the Cayenne Electric could become one of the most capable electric luxury SUVs available in India. Its September 30 debut will therefore be closely watched by buyers looking for a high-performance EV without compromising on everyday practicality.
