Porsche has introduced the new Cayenne Electric in India, bringing its popular luxury SUV nameplate into the brand’s next generation of all-electric performance vehicles. The Cayenne Electric is priced from Rs. 1.77 crore (ex-showroom), while the more powerful Cayenne Turbo Electric is positioned at Rs. 2.28 crore.
The new electric SUV is offered in two variants in India: Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric. Both versions use a 113kWh battery pack and dual electric motors with all-wheel drive. Porsche has focused on combining long-distance range with the performance expected from the Cayenne nameplate.
Porsche Cayenne Electric: Performance and Range
The standard Cayenne Electric produces up to 442 PS and 835 Nm with Launch Control. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 230 km/h. Porsche claims a range of up to 642km, depending on the applicable test cycle and configuration.
At the top of the range, the Cayenne Turbo Electric takes performance to another level. It develops up to 1,156 PS and can complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 2.5 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 260 km/h, while the claimed range is up to 623km.
Fast Charging and Advanced Technology
The Cayenne Electric supports DC charging at rates of up to 390kW. Porsche has also introduced an optional 11kW wireless charging system, making the model the first Porsche to offer inductive charging technology. The SUV can recover significant energy through regenerative braking, helping improve efficiency during everyday driving.
Adaptive air suspension is offered as standard, while rear-axle steering is available as an option. These technologies are designed to balance the Cayenne’s performance capabilities with the comfort expected from a premium SUV.
Modern Cabin With Multiple Digital Displays
Inside, the Cayenne Electric gets a technology-focused cabin with a curved OLED display layout and a 14.25-inch digital instrument cluster. A 14.9-inch passenger display is also available as an option. Other equipment includes four-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic roof and wireless smartphone charging.
With prices starting at Rs. 1.77 crore, the Porsche Cayenne Electric enters India’s premium electric SUV market alongside models such as the BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron and Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV. The combination of a large battery, all-wheel drive and Porsche-level performance gives the electric Cayenne a distinct position in the luxury EV segment.
