Renault has revealed the certified fuel efficiency figure of the newly launched Triber Turbo, adding another important detail to its latest seven-seater MPV. The new turbocharged version combines stronger performance with a claimed fuel efficiency of 21kmpl, according to Renault.
The Renault Triber Turbo was launched in India on September 28, 2026, with prices starting at Rs. 7.84 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in three variants — Evolution, Techno and Emotion — with the range extending up to Rs. 8.99 lakh.
Renault Triber Turbo Mileage: 21kmpl
The biggest talking point is the certified fuel efficiency figure. Renault claims that the Triber Turbo returns 21kmpl, which puts it among the more fuel-efficient seven-seater petrol MPVs available in this price range. The figure is particularly notable because the new version gets a turbocharged engine designed to deliver considerably more performance than the standard Triber.
However, the 21kmpl figure is a certified test-cycle figure. Actual fuel economy can vary depending on traffic, driving style, road conditions, passenger load and use of the air conditioner. Buyers should therefore expect real-world mileage to differ from the claimed number.
1.0-Litre Turbo Engine With 180Nm
The Triber Turbo gets a new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder TCe turbo-petrol engine. It develops around 100PS and 180Nm of peak torque, a substantial increase over the naturally aspirated Triber’s 72hp and 96Nm output.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. At present, Renault has not offered an automatic transmission with the turbo-petrol version. The stronger torque output should make the compact MPV more capable during highway overtaking and when carrying a full passenger load.
What the New Efficiency Figure Means
The Triber has traditionally focused on practicality, flexible seating and affordable running costs. With the turbo engine, Renault is now attempting to address the performance aspect without moving away from the model’s efficiency-focused positioning.
The 21kmpl certified figure also gives the Triber Turbo an interesting balance between performance and everyday usability. Its compact dimensions, seven-seat layout and turbocharged engine could make it relevant for buyers looking for a practical family car with stronger highway performance.
For now, real-world ownership reports will determine how closely the Triber Turbo can match its 21kmpl certified figure in everyday Indian driving conditions.
