Kia India is set to launch the much-awaited Sorento in the country on September 4, 2026. The three-row SUV will become the brand’s new flagship ICE model in India and is expected to target buyers looking for a more premium alternative to established seven-seater SUVs. Kia has already started local production at its Anantapur facility, while bookings are currently open.
Kia Sorento Expected Price in India
The biggest question ahead of the launch is its pricing. Kia has not officially revealed the price yet, but the Sorento is expected to be positioned in the premium SUV segment. Current estimates suggest an ex-showroom price of around Rs 30 lakh to Rs 40 lakh, depending on the powertrain and variant. Some market estimates place the starting price closer to Rs 35 lakh.
Local assembly could help Kia keep the Sorento competitively priced compared with fully imported premium SUVs. The final price, however, will depend on the variant line-up, equipment and localisation levels.
Hybrid and Diesel Engine Options
The Kia Sorento will make an important debut for the brand in India as it is expected to introduce Kia’s strong-hybrid technology to the Indian market. The hybrid version is expected to use a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid setup producing around 238hp and 380Nm, with all-wheel drive expected to be available.
A 2.2-litre diesel engine will also be offered, paired with an automatic transmission. The diesel version could appeal to buyers who regularly travel long distances and want the strong low-end torque associated with a larger diesel SUV.
Premium Features and Three-Row Layout
The Sorento will offer a premium cabin with three-row seating and is expected to be available in six- and seven-seat configurations. Feature highlights are likely to include dual 12.3-inch displays, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a powered tailgate, Bose audio, and advanced driver assistance systems.
With its combination of premium features, hybrid technology and an available AWD system, the Sorento will be positioned above the Seltos in Kia’s Indian portfolio.

The Kia Sorento will officially make its India debut on September 4, 2026. With bookings already open and vehicles reaching dealerships, the launch is now just hours away. The final price will determine how strongly the Sorento competes against models such as the Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner.
