JSW MG Motor India’s upcoming seven-seater electric SUV has been spotted undisguised on Indian roads ahead of its official debut on August 26, 2026. The latest sighting gives a much clearer look at the production-spec exterior and confirms that MG is preparing a larger electric SUV aimed at family buyers and rivals such as the Mahindra XEV 9S.
The new SUV, which has been referred to as the MG Hector Hawk or Hector Tomahawk in reports, will be the first MG model in India based on the company’s new ADAPT architecture. MG says this platform has been developed to support multiple new-energy powertrains, including EVs, hybrids, plug-in hybrids and range-extender technology.
MG 7-Seater EV Design Revealed
The undisguised test vehicle reveals a modern front-end design with slim LED headlamps and connected-looking daytime running lights. The front section gets a closed-off treatment typical of an electric vehicle, while the lower bumper features a rectangular air inlet and vertical air curtains.
The SUV was seen in an olive-green exterior shade with a contrasting black roof and roof rails. It also gets squared-off wheel arches, black body cladding and large dual-tone alloy wheels, giving it a more rugged stance than some of MG’s existing SUVs.
Expected Battery and Range
While MG has not yet announced the final specifications, reports suggest that the electric SUV could use a battery pack of around 69kWh. Earlier reports have indicated a claimed range of around 600km, although the final India-spec figure and testing cycle will be confirmed closer to launch.
The global Wuling model on which the SUV is based uses a front-mounted electric motor, while the India-spec version could receive changes to suit local requirements.
Seven Seats and Technology Focus
The new MG SUV will offer three-row seating, making it one of the more significant additions to India’s growing electric SUV market. Its longer 2,810mm wheelbase should provide useful cabin space, although actual third-row and boot practicality will only become clear once the production model is fully revealed.

MG is also expected to load the SUV with premium technology, including connected-car functions, a panoramic sunroof, advanced driver assistance systems, a 360-degree camera and modern infotainment features.
With its undisguised appearance now revealed, the MG seven-seater EV is shaping up as an important new entrant in India’s electric SUV segment. The official debut on August 26 should finally confirm its name, battery specifications, range, features and pricing.
