New Audi Q3 Local Production Begins Ahead of October 16 Launch

Audi India has started local assembly of the all-new third-generation Q3 ahead of its scheduled launch in the country on October 16, 2026. The new compact luxury SUV is being assembled at the Škoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The production milestone comes shortly after Audi opened bookings for the new Q3 in India.

The new Audi Q3 represents a major update over the outgoing second-generation model, which has been sold in India for several years. With local assembly now underway, Audi is preparing the SUV for deliveries following its official launch next month.

New Audi Q3: Design Gets a Major Update

The third-generation Q3 adopts a more upright and distinctive exterior design. It features a wider grille, split-style LED headlamps and a more sculpted body profile. At the rear, the SUV gets connected-looking tail lamps and an illuminated Audi logo, giving it a more contemporary appearance.

Audi has also introduced a more technology-focused cabin. The dashboard features a digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system, while the gear selector has been moved to the steering column. This creates additional usable space around the centre console.

2.0-Litre Petrol Engine With Quattro AWD

For India, Audi has confirmed a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with the brand’s quattro all-wheel-drive system. Reports indicate that the powertrain is expected to produce around 200-204hp and 320Nm, with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission handling gear shifts. Final India-specific specifications will be confirmed closer to the launch.

The combination of a four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, automatic transmission and all-wheel drive places the Q3 in direct competition with other entry-level luxury SUVs such as the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Features and Technology

The new Q3 is expected to offer a substantial equipment upgrade, including advanced lighting technology, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS functions, powered front seats and a modern digital cockpit. Audi has also confirmed several premium cabin and convenience features for the India-spec SUV.

Bookings for the new Audi Q3 are already open for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh through Audi’s sales channels. The company has not yet announced the final price, but current industry estimates place the starting price around Rs 55 lakh to Rs 60 lakh, ex-showroom.

With local assembly already underway, all eyes are now on October 16, when Audi will officially reveal the new Q3’s India pricing, variants and complete specifications.
